Best feeder motor?

I’m not interested in anyone’s opinion on baiting. All the property’s around mine are baited heavily, so the deer all leave my place to go there. I already have metal 55 gallon tripod feeders, so just looking for a timer that would mount to them. Tired of my moultries not lasting and being unreliable. What do you guys have good luck with? I’m leaning towards the boss buck 12 volt, but wanted opinions before I bought a 150$ motor. Also the ability for a solar panel is a must. Thank you for your help

Deereman8370,
Don't let all the "don't bait" guys get you down. When they come down to Texas, its AMAZING, they magically forget about their pompous stance. Maybe they have good manners.

Cheap and a deal, NEVER WORK. You need to be thinking $200 for each motor.
Start with the system.
1. The best system is 12 volt, gel cel, with a solar panel and a BIG cage. Change the gel cel and the timer batteries yearly, just trust me, it's not worth the hassle, they always crap out middle of deer season.
2. I also recommend the Hang 'em High feeder. Google them up, he has distributors around the country. Bomb Proof. We have pigs 24/7, these things survive. Though the stand and fills from All season are pretty awesome too!
3. The absolute best one I have used on our ranch is the All Seasons Evolution motor and the Timer. I do a lot of reviews, this feeder system is not a sponsor, nor do I receive anything for recommending, they are just great.

The spin plate drops via centrifugal force, then shuts. Corn usage is amazingly consistent. Yes, I realize the spin plate is pretty darn varmint proof. The cage I recommend (you will probably have to build one, I'll put a link to my "how to" video below). Anyway the cage is to protect the wires and motor pieces and parts, going to the solar panel. The trash pandas like to swing on them and break your awesome motor!!

Holler if you need anything or want to chat. troy@ranchfairy.com
I'll be running around with guests at the ranch for most of December. If you respond here, give me time, I'll get back.
Here's the link to build a big cage.

I saw the thread took a little turn toward bigger deer hunting.

To kill your bigger deer, you'll either need to be hunting the 2-3 days when the rut is so strong, they don't care.

I back off, down wind, usually in a tent and hand feed as spot.. We do this a lot on south Texas ranches with good road systems. Get about 75 or 100 yards from a feeder location and hand feed the road, but don't hunt where you can shoot the feeder.

My feeder setups that bucks hit are mounted to a tree with a board or strip of plywood behind the spinner plate. The feed falls to base of tree and 180° pattern. I use the small Moultrie all in one mounted to smaller 30 gallon barrels. They are quiet but don't throw feed far.which I like. I don't try to put out a lot since this will bring in more traffic and hogs. Some only run 2 seconds. Works early and late season if you know their general hang outs.
