I'am on a strict budget just like everyone else. I know that a broadhead is one of the most important pieces of equipment and you don't want to skimp much. Can you name a few? p.s. The pro set my arrows up with 85 gr. field tips does this mean I need to shoot 85 gr. broadheads? Thanks, oktx.

I shoot Muzzys. They're top notch broadheads with a mid price range. You can even get them at Wal Mart.

You want to get the same weight broadhead as field point. Practice with weight your'e going to hunt with.

broadheads

Another vote for slick tricks. If your looking for mechanicals, try Rocket Hammerheads. I believe they are 2.5 cutting diameter, fly true and have huge entry and exit holes, $17.00 at Dicks.

Thunderheads are great 6 for 34.00 or you can get them at walmart for a 3 pack its just half the price of a 6 pack or I'm looking into boss again 6 for 32.00 that may seem like a lot but when 3 of some kinds cost 30.00 its a good deal to buy 6.

I think that the best broad head for the price is the Magnus Stinger. I get mine for around $15-$20 and the are one sweet shooting head. They fly just like a field point and they're VERY sharp. I have killed a deer with them, and my friend has killed a very big Bear and Deer with his, and i've heard of other peoples success with them. Either way, you cant go wrong with the Magnus Stingers:wink:

I shot some of the Eastman Outdoors broadheads last year while doing some tests. Thet are inexpensive and flew very well. One in particular was a 2 blade cut on contact and grouped very well out to 50 yards. Of course I still say that Grim Reaper heads are the best:wink:

no. no. no. The NAP shockwave's are cheap and work wonders.....Killed 5 deer w/them last year and found them all w/in 50 yards.....they work great. Yeah, they are older, but refer to the old adage: "if it ain't broke, why fix." Ill use them forever!!!

I shot a deer with the shockwave broadhead

Virtually no blood trail got her right in the vitals with a pretty fast bow.The heads on those things are almost blunts i would not recommend.I think that is why they are so cheap. If your going to go that route i would go with the spitfires from nap

Wasp or Muzzy

Both good choices.

Set up for 85 grain means you will just need to adjust your sight a little here or there for 100 grain heads and you can find alot more selection in 100grain. I use Wasp Boss SST at $30 to $35 for 6 thats about as good as it gets. They look awesome fly awesome and leave a devistating whole. I would get a few 100 grain fieldtips from your pro shop or a body. I bet any local guy can spare a few and shoot them. I bet you will not be far off of you 85 grain tips.
