I get this question almost every day... It helps to define what mid-range is. I call mid-range in todays market $700-$1000. In my opinion these are the top 3 mid range bows:

Xpedition RefleXion 32 - ($800) has a better back wall and holds on target better than the Hoyt mentioned below... but the Hoyt has a better draw cycle. This bow is as good as any aluminum flagship. If there were any other name on the riser it would be an $1100 bow. I sell a bunch of these.

Hoyt Torrex XT -($800-$999) I feel like I'd love this bow if it were 32# or longer at the same physical weight. This bow definitely wins the draw cycle category. Hoyt says this bow is 4# but feels heavier. (All Hoyts feel heavier and require more weight to balance for me) I'm not a Hoyt dealer but if I were, I'd stock more of these than the Carbon bows.

Bear Alaskan XT - $560 (with new strings the price point is similar to the Xpedition R32) This bow is a little "buzzy" on the shot and the strings are on par with Zebra... Some sets require constant attention and others are serviceable. If this bow had any other name on the riser (and better factory strings) it would sell for $800-$1000. I've had enough of these go through the shop to know these bows punch well above their weight class!!!

I'm looking at getting a Torrex shortly.
Just curious why you pick the XT over the $200 cheaper base Torrex?
Thanks in advance.

The 6" BH of the XT works better for me because I won't loose as much potential when I adjust it for my DL.

New, and in no particular order:
Elite Terrain
Darton Consequence 2
Prime Ronan
Hoyt Torrex XT

leftover flagships can be found for 800-1k
Used for a season flagships can be had for 600-1k as well. Some are priced astronomically for some reason, but you can weed those out.

I have an Elite Terrain. It’s been a good bow. I chose it due to Outdoor Life’s (PJ) recommendation. Knowing what I know now I would’ve purchased either a gently used or a ‘new old stock’ flagship bow….slightly better and faster….just my 2 cents 🏹

This time of year you can get some very good deals on high dollar bows. My shop drops 10 to 25% od bows year of bows to make room. Picked up my pse evolve 30 for well under 1k.

Nos from your shop is always the best option. Full warranty , shop treats you well, better price.

On a budget which i usually am. Its going to be hard to beat bear archery. They have the 600 and under market covered well. Great bows just not flagship quality which is fine.

All that really matters is what you like. Be it a pse stinger or a hoyt rxwhatever
