I am thinking of buying a Summit climber. Has anyone done any research regarding who has the best deals on them? Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought a brand new 05 model Razor off Ebay for $199 plus $20 shipping (if you shop Ebay, be SURE to check shipping fees before purchasing a stand!!!).

The seller had awesome feedback, and I got my stand in a few days. The harness was one of the recall ones (Made in China in 2005). One phone call to Summit, and a new 06 model harness arrived in less then a week.

Bought mine new at Dick sports a couple of years ago for 30 buck cheaper then everywhere else was selling. They have pretty good sales occasionally.

Bought mine about 1/2 way through season so that may have been it.

DId you get it from Alan in Alabama? I got one from him off ebay for the same deal. Nice guy and a great stand. I posted up a link a couple of weeks back about the deal.... at the time, he had 5 razors left.

I think his ebay storefront was a boating/marina supply place or something.

I didn't look at the harness for the recall info..... do you still have that info so that I can check mine?

I remember your thread, and I even PM'ed you about your transaction and stand... I decided to buy one, but the guy in AL didn't have any listed. A place in Ohio (woodburyoutfitters - ebay user name) had the same stand new in box for the same price, so I bought it through them.

As for the harness recall, any harness made in China in 2005 is recalled. If it was made anywhere else (Taiwan, Korea, etc.) it is not included in the recall. And only harness' made in 2005. All the info is on the black tag on the harness.

If your harness is one of the recall ones, you'll have to send off for a packet and after you get it, fill out the info and send back just a certain part of your recalled harness, and then they will send a replacement.

When I called (you won't be talking to anyone from Summit - It's a call center handling the recall stuff) to get my recall packet, I was told that it would take approx. 6 weeks to get my new harness. So, I told the guy to just send the packet, and I called Summit. Told the guy I didn't have six weeks to wait, and he sent out a new one that day.... Told me to wait for my packet before sending my old one back.

The folks at Summit are awesome!
