Just curious on your opinions, what's the best target for the money for compound bows? 3d and field point bags?

Bingo.

I have a Spyderweb and had a Merrell Yellow Jacket bag. Yellow Jacket was junk and the Spyderweb is nice but acts like a bag target (getting lopsided if shot on same side and shooting same holes get a little soft).

I've stopped using the Spyderweb and now use three Rineharts......Woodland Buck for 3D, Rhinoblock for field tips, and an 18-1 for broadheads.

If you want a ready made target that's the best bang for the buck, it would have to be the Big Boy Archery targets. I got a 3'x3' target this year and it's been outstanding. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if I needed it. Looks like it's going to be a pretty good while before I need one though.

The Blob target is the best target you can get! But you live in CA and they are heavy to ship from Georgia. The 3rd hand Rag Bag is about $25 shipped and will last a good long time, but you gotta keep them dry. You just fill it up with rags. You can easily fluff up the rags if the center gets pounded. You need to hang it under a shelter.

Seem it's not sadly. Seen a lot of unhappy Block Vault owners. Hopefully you have better luck than them.

I’ve been through a handful of targets and prefer the bulldog targets and the morrell outdoor range over everything else. You said “for the money” though. If money is tight, I don’t think you could do any better than a thirdhand diy target like others have suggested. If you have the money I’d buy a bulldog or an outdoor range depending on which you prefer and what you’re doing and then spend your time shooting instead of building a target. If money is at more of a premium than time, put together a third hand target and get after it.

I've been shooting on this for two years. Other side looks brand new. I rarely aim for the middle when practicing but the middle looks all worn out because this is my chrono target that gets hit in the middle Up close and I also used it for countless shots at about 3 yds getting comfortable with a hinge. It's also been outside this whole time. It was $39.99 at Dicks.

Had the Block Vault and started shootings clear through it with field points within a summer. Broad heads tore it up. You said best value, so I have to say the Matrix target is best value. Not cheap, but six hexagons, with target dots on both sides makes for 12 spots to shoot at. And you simply rotate a new module into the center when you shoot one out. I’m in Alaska, so had to make special shipping arrangements, and customer service was first rate. I paid full price for mine, and would again except that it should be years before I have to spend any money on a new target.
