I'm looking to upgrade from a 15 year old Browning Mirage TC to a compound bow that's maybe 5 or 6 years old.

What would be your recommendation for a bow in the $500 used range.

I've been keeping an eye out for a Mathews Vertix, Traverse, VXR etc.

I've also been looking at some Bowtech and Prime bows.

My draw length is 30.5 and I'm looking for something that at least goes to 70 lbs.

What do you guys think is the most bang for your buck in that price range?

As a complete package, the bear legit isnt bad for the price. Any used new bowtech will be good, same for mathews

Definitely recommend Bowtech bows. Very smooth draw cycle. I just picked up a Revolt XL due to need of a 32” draw length and couldn’t be happier. I have shot the Prodigy since it was released and maxed out the draw length ant 30.5” and made due but finally decided to upgrade to something that actually fits.

You can buy new in the box flagship Bear bows off Ebay for like $400. But it will be a model from 1 to 2 years ago. They are good bows but just don't hold their value. I don't buy used bows, so if I were in the market, I'd snag a new Bear Kuma 33 or similar off Ebay for over half off.

Just remember that getting parts for any bow, other than a Mathews, that is more than 5 years old is very hit-and-miss.

Man you can't go wrong. I picked up a bear trace nos for 250 just to play with it. For hunting every company has nothing but great stuff out there. Pse brutes can be found for 275 nos on ebay. Nos usually means warranty which is a good thing

You can run into some killer deals for that price range on here. Keep your eyes open for 3-4 year old flagship bows

You can pick-up a Hoyt Carbon Element for that price. They were $1200 when I bought mine new in 2012. I just sold it this year all set-up with custom strings, and extra set of brand-new custom strings, sight, rest, and a release, all in a hard case for $650.
