I've noticed that on a lot of target bows...such as the APEX 7 and some of the Martins the cams and wheels seem much smaller than those on the hunting bows. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
Part of it is that hunting bows tend to be shorter, and have more parallel limbs. If the limbs don't move much when you draw, you have to make up the rest of the draw length through the string length wrapped around the cams.
