depending on how far you want to see, get a spotting scope instead siince you already have biinos.

Has anyone tried the minox 8-14x40 or the 10-15x40 binoculars.I already have a set of 8.5x43 minox and love them and would like some higher power for long range viewing. Any input would be appreciated as I do not have a dealer close and will have to mail order a pair without looking at them first. I have heard that variable power binoculars are not as good as fixed power??

I do see your point but I like the portability of a binocular and have also found spotting scopes hard on the eyes after extended viewing.

8.5x is max for ibo, 10x i believe for asa, so if you want to shoot a sanctioned shoot they would be illegal.Bino's over 10X i get sea sick lookin thru them
