I just received in the mail a brand new black gold ascent verdict.

I am new to the Product, and I have a question.

For the dial of death, I have the lock down turned off.As I tried to turn the dial it starts out smooth but then goes stiff and then smooth way at the end. Is this common for the new sight?

I haven't mounted it to my bow yet. Was looking for people's experience with this product.

I have two of them and the 2nd was very hard to move about in the middle of the slide. I mean it was difficult to turn the dial. After close inspection I found a burr from machining that wasn't clean up and after I removed it it got better. I would suggest to give them a call as you don't want to start turning screws and mess things up, i think there is 2 screws that the instruction say do not adjust.

To be clear, don't mind stiff, but mine is inconsistent. The middle is REAL stiff.

Called they said send it back. It should be consistent in stiffness.

Thanks for all the replies.

Just an update. I called back again before sending back, and a different person pointed me to the two screws to loosen and it is fine for me now. I didn't want to leave this out there as an issue, as it is a sweet sight!!

It typically is the derlin block the wheel presses against isn’t square causing inconsistent pressure up and down the slide. It’s the reason I quit using my mbg and only buy geared sliders like Hha and spot Hogg. It will work just fine I just get annoyed by it

Mine does the exact same thing. Almost like there is a little hump in the middle. Hasn't really bothered me since I'd rather have it tight and not even worry about it moving without using the lock nub. What does bother me is the sqeeeek I get at times. Any remedies for this?

I didn't loosen much, just a bit as I have rheumatoid. I still leave the adjuster unlocked. Will lock it down when hunting.
