I'm looking at making a move out to the northern black hills of South Dakota (lead area). I know much of the black hills is public, but I'm curious about the quality, quantity, and opportunity for deer hunting in the area. I've lived most my life in SE South Dakota so I know there will be a change there. Also any suggestions on strategy would be great too. Thanks.

Black Hills deer hunting is very good. Lots of deer however not the "quality" of bucks that you would be used to in the agricultural east side of the state. Best strategy is to burn some boot leather and get away from the ATV trails.
