Hi all,

I have owned a ******* Gravity feeder since March 2017. In 9 months and despite 24/7 observation of the feeder with a trail cam, I have yet to get a picture of any deer feeding out of the feeder, which is full of shelled corn and has the baffles open all of the way. Each chute is full of corn and the baffles are not clogged. This feeder is in a location where I used to get daily pictures of multiple deer and turkey when I had a spinning feeder. The deer numbers on my property are high, and I have killed a nice buck with my bow here both years I have lived on the property. So, its not an issue of a lack of deer. I see deer on virtually every hunt on this small property. I recently got frustrated with the lack of success and clear avoidance of this gravity feeder, and I dumped all of the corn on the ground. The deer ate the corn off the ground within a few days, and I had hundreds of deer pictures at the feeder site in a matter of ~3 days. I am at a complete loss for why the deer are avoiding this feeder at all costs. I called ******* and they seemed to have no idea, and told me to move the feeder, which makes no sense considering the situation (the feeder is already in a secluded location that deer feel comfortable in). Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, or have a similar experience?

I do have a spinning feeder on the other side of the property that gets hammered consistently. This has been pretty frustrating. Cleaned the gravity feeder out and put in all new corn, and still no results. I thought maybe it was "bad corn", yet that wouldn't make much sense either considering they ate it all off the ground.

V-Train,

I'm afraid to say you're right. I just can't wrap my head around how my deer act so much different with a gravity feeder than the deer at the property 5 minutes down the road. Pretty crazy.

Good point. I don't rely on my feeder to kill deer. I've never killed a deer even close to a feeder. However, it'd be nice to hold more does on the property, and be able to take trail cam inventory of whats on the menu during the rut.
