Hmm, I would think you would want something more of a good hiking boot that has better support, with less grams thinsulate if you are walking after elk. I have yet to hunt elk in the winter, so I could be way wrong on that.
Pop and I bought ours to go on some Canadian whitetail hunts, and we were sitting in stands all day. While they are comfortable boots, I don't think I would want to lug those things around on my feet all day if I was hiking.
