I really like my Danner Pronghorns. Great boot and there was no 'break in' period for me. Love 'em

I love my Danners and I also have a pair of Redhead boots that I think Danner might make that fits great. The Danners fit like a tennis shoe and have awesome ankle support. I just finished my 5th elk season and they are by far my go to western boot.

Silvis makes a great leather boot and I also have had a great pair of Irish setters however they weren't leather.

Danner makes a good leather boot. The models with stitch down soles cost more but last longer and give better support. One example is the Elk Hunter series offered by Cabelas....

I've got the same boots but in the 1,000gram version "my cold weather boots". I love them, very well built, very warm and very comfortable. One of the best pair of boots I've ever owned.

What type of hunting, in what conditions and with how much on your back? Stand hunting, spot and stalk, packing in... If you'll share more I'll see if I can help... I can tell you alot of what NOT to buy based on my specific experience because I go through leather boots like Pamela Anderson goes through silcon implants...
