What company makes the best bow case(single bow) for the $$$. The bow will not be on an airline, just in the truck to the woods & back home. The pictures that I see on web sites for cases I think do not look very good. Which case holds up the best (hinges, latches, zippers, handles) is the sturdest(hard cases) best lasting fabric(soft cases)

THANKS FOR THE HELP,
MATT

I am in the process of modifying my freedom case to give me a little more room. Basically there is a 3/4 to 1" thick piece of styrofoam on both sides so I ripped out the guts to one side and took the styrofoam out and glued the velcro pad back in...I am thinking this should give me enough room for all my stuff, but I won't know until the glue dries and I try it out! I like the compact size and the latches on the SKB freedom case, that is why I am trying to make it work.

cheers

If you want the best hard case, I would recommend a Kalispel. Their foam is a lot better quality than SKB, and their locking system is superior also. SKB has the cheapest locks I've ever seen. They may replace them, but that doesn't do any good at destination when it is time to hunt and not try to find locks.
Also, for airline travel, You can get a Kalispel custom sized, not a shelf model made by others that may be 5 or 6 inches too long, and cause you to have to pay oversize fee at the airport. They not measure all cases now, but who knows what they will enforce next year.

I saw one in montgomery that was grey and it had an insert that slid into a shell with one locking latch and roller blade type wheels on it. my question is what kind is it i cant find it anywhere if anyone knows what kind it is that would some awesome info.

My SKB serverd me well this last spring in Sascatchewan bear hunting,it rode strapped to a quad on average 20 miles a day thru the bush and protected my bow just dandy. My friend made the mistake of leaving his case on the ground and some cubs drug it off and tried their darndest to get it open. His SKB only showed a couple of scratches not bad for the abuse they were giving it. My vote SKB

I have the Doskocil SE 44. It is great for transporting the bow back and forth to the range and the woods. I dont think it is adequate for air travel though.

I really like the fact that it accomodates a quiver w/ arrows.

the Pro 44 is a little nicer with a tool box and release holder but i couldnt justify the extra $$$

Let us know how it goes and post a pic when you're done PLEASE. I have the freedom also and like it, but I need more room also. Would love to not have to take off my quiver all of the time.

The SKB cases are one of the best but avoid the Freedom case.
