I hunt in a lot of hard wood trees. I have tried some of the cheap walmart hangers but they wont srew in oaks. I saw some were on hear a bow holder that straps around the tree with a sinch strap but I can't find it again. Also I would like to hang my back pack to. Let me know if any of you found any bow holders that will screw into oak or some other system you use that works to hold a bow and your pack thanks.

I have a bow hanger probably very similar to the one you have, mine has an accessory hook that goes below it. On the instructions on mine it suggests drilling a pilot hole with the accessory hook where you want the hanger to go first. Then screwing the hanger into that hole, this seems to work for me in hardwood trees. hope this helps

Humm i used the Ez hanger but in some of the trees i got in to like the hickories and yes oak it bent the tip and made it sometimes difficult to use. My solution is a ZEN quiver from athens archery. I use it for my piolet hole then screw it in and hang my pack and horns on the quiver.

I use a wratchet strap. Put the stap threw the eye of the hook then tighten it. If you want to hang your pack next time you are at a hardware store buy 2 hooks. It is extremely easy to set up and I always leave some excess hanging and it can help show you what way the wind is blowing. Usually you can find the staps In camo so you don't have to worry about some bright yellow strap sticking out.
