Don't know if they make these or not, but I got tired of walking to my tree stand or back to the truck in the dark and not being able to see what was in front of me so I made a quick disconnect flash light/stab for my bow...

Wow...

That is just brilliant (no pun intended). I love it. That is so simple and obvious it is the kind of thing that takes a really creative guy to come up with.

I'm impressed. Well done.

P.S. I'm not sure what the game warden in my area would think of it, even if electronic devices attached to the bow were legal in ND. It's still brilliant.

That's cool. I had thought about doing that as well, but never got around to it.

Looks good, but if you are gonna leave it attached to the bow during the hunt you may want to cover that gloss finish though.

Someone used to make a replacement rear cap for a small MagLight just for this purpose!
As long as you keep it down to a 2 AA sized light the NY wardens don't have a problem with them.
Never know though when one of them might be having a bad day,or a dry spell at home!

COOL !! Just a bit heavy ehhh ??
I did the same thing about 15 years ago using a small penlight that uses 2 AA batteries. Not so much as a stab, but to have hands free lighting. Retired it after realizing it wasn't worth it. Stilll have the light in a drawer somwhere.

I am gonna check and see if it is illegal or not, I don't know if it would be considering it is only a flashlight and not a spot light and it is a 2 C Mag Light... It really is not that heavy for me.. Only 16.74 oz overall

I remember when they were around for the AA maglights, not sure if they're still made thought. I'm just speculating here but chances are if they're not illegal a game warden can easily give you a very hard time about them. Even if they're not illegal per se it could easily be used to light up a deer at 20 yards.

In Mich the DNR would love you. (Deer Season)

Lose your bow and a fine. Shooting after dark with a spotlight would be the ticket (s).

Illegal use of artificial light with bow and arrow or firearm

$100 to $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail, plus revocation of hunting licenses for remainder of year convicted, plus next consecutive year.

They could also get you for;

Violation of permits, season, bag limits, shooting hours and methods of taking game

$50 to $500 fine and/or up to 90 days in jail.

Put your bow in a Primos Sling and carry the flashlight in your hand?

Neat idea but seems like a waste and in MI would get in lots of trouble

That is mostly what I am after is hogs, they are very abundant where I hunt. It aint easy trying to get away from a hog loaded down with gear considering their rushing method

Yep, we use the Texas Boar Bracket and a streamlight stylus or penlights by sunlight (red led lights) for hog hunting during the off season. The great thing about the Texas Boar Bracket is that it allows you to adjust the light on your target and it works great out of a Double bull blind!

Best part is you can you use any flashlight in currently have instead of going an buying an expensive $100 plus light. If you use the hawglight or any other stabilizer mounted light you do not have the ability to adjust the light right on the target but when the TBB in used in conjuction with your stabilizer light you gain adjustment and eliminate any glare back into the pop up blinds. First, bracket on the market! TBB also thought of us trad and bow fishing folks too!

I have used it at 3D night shoots and it works great!

Check them out at http://texasboarbracket.com
