Who released the 2021 bow of the year in your opinion. I haven't tested out the elite, prime or bowtech yet. But between Hoyt, PSE and Mathew's that I did test, I would give Hoyt the win so far with PSE a close second place finish.

Whichever one feels best to the individual archer.

I did not get to shoot the new high end PSEs, tho I wanted to.

For me it was the Solution. V3 a close second.

Best bang for the buck was the PSE Drive and Hoyt Torrex XT.

Hard to tell. Based on the consensus of reviews I've seen, many people seem to be happy with the Mathews V3. A close second seems to be the Bowtech Solution or Hoyt Ventum. I think someone would feel incredibly fortunate to own any of those 3.

Me personally, I think Bowtech makes the best drawing bow and it's easy to work on. The Solution and Solution SS is about as good as it gets. I feel like Bowtech is still underrated in the industry because their marketing and social media is flat out terrible, and they don't participate enough in the famous hunter / TV show affiliation game like the others.

Mathews is totally dead in the hand and looks good. And people that like them lose their minds over them. There's something to be said for brand loyalty. V3 is a great bow. Better than the VXR, eh, maybe.

Hoyt has improved a lot this year in the shock department, but their bows still look funky to me. And I don't think it's better than the Bowtech Solution or Mathews V3.

I’ve shot all of the flagship bows this year . Hands down winner for me was the pse evo evl . In fact I bought one when I wasn’t even looking for another bow I liked it so much . Second for me was the solution. Then the ventum . I didn’t like the v3 It was okay . I think matthews has fanboys that buy them no matter what and they have it in their head that they are the best bow before they even shoot them . I have an arrange of bows from all different makers each has their selling point . So I don’t give partial reviews to anyone . If no one has shot the pse evl yet treat yourself.

I shot most of them this year. I ended up buying a Solution, but it wasn't an easy choice. Tuneability made it my choice with the deadlock system. I felt it was the best overall with fairly a smooth draw, decent speed and it balanced well with little vibration on the shot.

  • EVL 32: 2nd place in my book but lost out due to Deadlock tuning
  • Ventum: was silly smooth but I just hate the look even though aesthetics shouldn't matter and it's a bit slow. I thought about ordering one in 80lb limbs but decided against it. It's that smooth.
  • Solution SS: smooth but too slow.
  • V3: first mathews I've likes in quite some time. A real shooter and I can't cuss it.
  • Enkore: not my cup of tea, but lots of guys like it.
  • Prime: I forgot which model I shot (believe it was the 36"). Didn't care for it and I am currently a proud Prime owner for years so it surprised me to not like their offering this year.

Just my observations from this year's buying process.

I'm going to go with the PSE EVO EVL 32,,,,and i'm a long time Hoyt shooter. The PSE has some great features this year. The wide limbs feel more stable @ full draw and easier to hold straight up and down without even looking @ you bubble.

The slide / roller combo is slick. I think bow companies should think about this more then just using a roller.

The big one for me that really caught my attention was the PSE string splitter that also allows you to YOKE TUNE a binary bow. Super killer feature, patent pending and I assume binary bow companies will either use the patent or cheat off it and devise their own.

My ole favorite Hoyt's just did zero for me. The Ventum felt like a pile of lead, Mathews like, big and clunky. The carbon felt better, but weighs as much as a metal riser bow. I passed on Hoyt. Mathews to me is ridiculous in weight per length of axle.

I didn't get to the Bowtech yet. Bowtech always has some nice innovations.

So to me it's not PSE, it's PSE EVO EVL 32. The other PSE bows are lagging in innovation like this bow. The Nock On bows are last years technology.

I've shot N4, N2, owned N6, enkore, remedy, rx5, rx5 ultra, Mathews new ones, own Atlas, X37, bowtechs new ones.

I say the elite remedy is what I like best for 2021,

Ok I have to interject on this one . I’m a Hoyt owner myself. I think Hoyt makes “great” all around bows . But I don’t think they excel in any one aspect . Take it back 3years and I think you’ll find what I’m saying matches very heavily with the general consensus out there . 2019
Speed bows (taking in all aspects speed shoot ability vibration etc)
Put the rx5 turbo against the sr6 no comparison it loses in almost every aspect .
Put the rx5 ultra vs the vertix for general all around bow once again a loss for Hoyt.
2020
I have to give 2020 to the elite Kure that bow was unreal. Hands down beat the rx4alpha.
2021.
Well let’s just say it would be a hard case to sell to anyone to say the ventum out shoots in any one specific aspect than another specialized bow in the same aspect . See it’s not as fast as the solution , smooth or shootable as the Evl or solution ss . And the ventum 30 just isn’t as nice of a short bow as the v3.
Guess what I’m saying is over the last few years to me Hoyt has become like the well rounded “good” all around choice but for their price point and what the other bow companies are doing innovation wise. They are falling farther behind. Which is why in my opinion they tried to make a competitively priced bow like the ventum. Which has worked well for them . Most likely a direction they will continue upon.

Shows how everyone likes or fits in to different bows. Most all bows have great features but doesn't work for everyone. I think the Ventum is an awesome bow. I have always liked Hoyt. I had quite a few PSE's but to me the looks are not that impressive. Mathews are quiet but the worst draw bow I have shot. Actually the last couple. I did like my Halon 6. I wanted to get a prime but nobody close to me has them. I don't like a bow over 31 so a lot of the bows don't interest me.

Read the context I used it in I said “fanboys who think it’s the best before they even shoot it” I’ve praised the traverse and the vertix countless times just don’t like the new direction they are going with the vxr and v3

I read what you said and understand where you are coming from. BUT...I think when the term Fan-boy get's tossed into the discussion you loose the respect of a lot of readers. I have shot Hoyt bow's for the last 20 years. This year I bought a V3 31 and even though it was my first Mathews bow I'm called a Fan-boy because I now shoot one. I don't follow any shooter, although I enjoy watching competitions on media. In any area of life you are going to have that small group of people that "wanna be like Mike" and defend their choices. The term "Fan-boy" should be dropped from our collective vocabulary and use our intellect to express ourselves without the derogatory comments. NOT busting your balls at all, as I don't think you meant it as a put down. JMTCW

I would never discredit another archer on their preference of bows it’s much to subjective. I was just implying in this market an open mind does you justice . I would have never thought I would walk out of a store with an $1100 pse just was never into them that much but this year that’s who took it for me . I don’t buy a new bow every year but have a variety of bows whenever an amazing bow comes out once every couple years I get it .
