Just wondering what anybody thought about this. CO puts the muzzleloaders right in the middle of archery season. This is the week I was planning on going. Any advantages/disadvantages. For one you can hear when somebody gets a shot and they may get the elk moving, maybe in the wrong direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Where are you hunting? Meaning, if you're packing in WELL away from other hunters or hunting a private ranch... don't worry about it. That's the peak of bugling.

If you're like me and you hunt where there are others (I saw about 1 - 2 hunters a day being 2 - 4 miles off the roads in wilderness areas near Vail)... the pressure will change their behavior. That and the two weeks of hunting they've received to that point.

If you're hunting such public land... opening day is best and it goes downhll from there. In my opinion limited pressure outways the rut. But that's just where I hunt and my opinion. Could be different where you're going. Good luck... any day in elk country is better than any day elsewhere.
