The above thread was on Bowhunting mistakes and I took all of the mistakes and made it into a list of things to do right...I thought I would share it.
Preparation
Pre-season scouting.
Stand placement
Practice enough in the off-season / Practicing right!!
Practice with your broadheads
Practice in your hunting clothes including head net (if you use one)
Use equipment that is tuned
Know how to estimate yardage
Area
Don’t hunt the same spot over and over.
Have enough and big enough shooting lanes
Hunt where you know the animals are, but not where they bed and feed
Sit high enough and long enough.
Don’t just hunt "easy to get to" spots
Hunting
Have just enough gear to get the job done
Control your scent / Pay close attention to wind
Think positive
Put the time in
Pay attention
Have self-control
Getting a Good Shot
Don’t rush your shot or take a poor shot
Pick a spot / don’t shoot at the whole animal
Know your equipment and your capabilities
Draw your bow at the right time
Know that animals can see your movements
Try to get close enough for an effective shot (but not too close)
What do you think? Can you think of things that are not on here?
