05 vs 06

The 05 Binary cam bows have draw length specific cams, no modules. The 06 bows have modules, with the choice of speed or smooth mods. I know that some individuals have replaced 05 cams with 06-08 cams with good results. I don't know if the company allows it for a bow under warranty. I would doubt it. If the warranty is a consideration, I'd check with the company first.

But it does work right, and just get a string to fit the 06 models?

we have had guys replace there 07 cam's with 08's and a couple other things but we always strated with a call to bowtech. On one we had to replace bushings also. one set was a .01 thinner and made the cam's old bushings vibrate when shot. got the new bushings and she was just a quite as before.
