As I mentioned in a previous thread, I have recently switched from Mathews (z7) to a Bowtech Experience and figured I would share my personal thoughts. The past couple months I've been able to shoot it quite a bit at our local indoor league and to say that I'm impressed is quite an understatement.
I will start by saying that initially, I was kinda leaning toward a Hoyt without really shooting many other brands. I think Hoyt makes a quality product, however, before I committed, I owed it to myself to at least shoot some other brands. I was able to shoot PSE, Hoyt, Mathews and of course BowTech. Most of my decision was based on how feel of the bow, ie, draw cycle, back wall, valley, noise and vibration. Brace height and other bow reviews helped me determine what to expect in general bow accuracy.
So, not only did the Bowtech Experience feel the best overall, I was impressed by many of the reviews. The first thing I noticed was how fast the bow is, despite a generous brace height of 7". Secondly, of all the bows I've shot, the Experience was by far the quietest with virtually no hand shock which is probably my favorite characteristic. It didn't take long to figure out that this bow is extremely accurate as well and to be frank, I've never shot this good. I always seemed to struggle with hand torque with my Z7 because of the fat grip, the slim grip on the Experience seems to have addressed that issue and is very comfortable.
Outside of a few 3D shoots and maybe a winter league every year, I have never really considered myself a target archer. Being an avid bowhunter for more than 25 years, there are certain qualities I look for in a bow. The Experience has all the qualities of a good hunting bow. Fast, accurate, and quiet. If there is anything I don't like about this bow, I guess it would have to be the appearance. Looks too much like a souped up PSE...fragile components and made for speed alone.
I am not partial to any one brand and could care less about popularity. So, for anyone out there debating on a new bow, I would highly recommend the Bowtech Experience. You will be glad you did!
