I have seen many pics of BT's with new strings on them. I noticed many don't put the things back on the strings. Do you gain much speed by taking them off? Is it any louder without them on? Thanks.

I had mine tear off so I replaced them and a week later they tore off again. I can tell that there is a big difference when they are not on. I decided to try out the STS so that I wouldn't have to put anything on my string. I am pleased, it is quiter than the hush kit and that tiny bit of vibration the Tribute has is gone. I pull 65LBS and used the same arrows when I chronoed the bow. 277 with the hush kit, and 281 with out. Smooth mods and a 375 grain arrow. I will have an STS on any bow I own.

Back when I owned one of these bows. The damn hush kit on the strings would tear off and hit you in the eye LOL. They are pretty poorly made. Probably Bowtechs way of cutting costs like they do on their limbs.

Mine on my '06 bows are doing just fine with more than 2000 shots on them.

You must have the only set they ever made properly. Every Bowtech I have everr seen has blown the string dampeners right off within a week.

All you must have seen were dry fired bows or bows who's owners don't know how to count and have severe time loss affliction:rolleyes:

When my hush flew off the string it was moving faster than an arrow from a Ross bow.

I'm not in denial,, I only tell the truth about my own observations. I have my credibility that I care for and value. Some that are using very light weight arrows will have less service with the string silencers than those like me that always shoot 7 grains per pound or more. I think last year's silencers didn't last as long as this years, again just my observations.
