PBR Limited Edition Bow by BowTech

Eugene, OR (October 19, 2004) - BowTech has shared an alliance with the Professional Bull Riders for three consecutive years, a partnership that has brought together two sports with similar qualities: courage, honor, integrity, and duty to family and God. BowTech also proudly sponsors popular Professional Bull Rider, Tony Mendes, and five-time world champion bullfighter, Rob Smets, both living examples of the kind of hard work that goes into making an exciting sport.

In recognition of their partnership with the fastest growing spectator sport in America, BowTech introduces the 2005 PBR Limited Edition bow, finished in Mossy Oak Brand Obsession camouflage. The PBR bow features the black and red logo of the PBR, custom engraved limb pockets, and a PBR star idler wheel. Other unique characteristics include simulated black carbon fiber finished limbs and handmade, pre-stretched, black and red string and cables. The PBR Limited Edition bow carries a lifetime warranty and is guaranteed to become a collector’s item.

“BowTech has been an exceptional partner since joining the PBR national sponsor ranks,” says Sean Gleason, PBR’s Chief Operating Officer. “Associating the PBR name more closely with BowTech’s industry leading product is a natural extension of our relationship. We’re honored to have our marks on the best bows in the industry.” “Through its culture and its athletes, the PBR exemplifies everything that we value here at BowTech,” says BowTech Marketing Director, Gene Shands. “Our ongoing association with the PBR, and the parallel demographics of our audiences, makes the PBR theme bow the perfect next step in a great relationship.”

BowTech has restricted this limited edition production run to 1000 bows, each sequentially numbered and personally signed by Tony Mendes. PBR fans attending the World Finals in Las Vegas, Oct. 22–31, will have the first opportunity to pre-order their PBR bow at the BowTech Fan Zone booth. BowTech dealers may also pre-order by contacting their BowTech representative. Interested buyers are encouraged to order now because this bow will come charging out of the chute.

BowTech, ( www.bowtecharchery.com ), manufacturer and distributor of the world’s finest compound bows and archery equipment, was founded in 1999 by CEO, John Strasheim, and VP of Research and Development, Kevin Strother. BowTech is the fastest growing bow company in history, increasing in revenue every year since 2000 to become the fourth largest bow company in the world.

Thought you guys might like to know a little info about the PBR. There is a problem with them. The sight mounting holes where drilled incorrectly they are offset from eachother a little which tilts the sight pretty bad. I know someone that got a couple and sent them back. Bowtech resolution to the problem was to cut the riser into three pieces and weld in a newly bored sight window and then repaint. I think that fix is BS that takes the stuctural integrity away from the bow, it would never be as strong again. I do know that all orders for the PBR are on hold now until they fix the 1500 that where drilled wrong, I cant believe there QA let that get through?

Archerynutz,

You are way off base on this one. WE ARE NOT CUTTING UP THE RISERS!
I am personally involved in this issue, and I can assure everyone that we would not even think of cutting up a riser and rewelding it.
Also, how can we fix the 1500, when there are only going to be 1000 produced???

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from, but it is totally inaccurate.

We have only shipped a few PBR models. Those bows are being returned and replaced with new models.

LOL .... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright...That is now, officially, the stupidest post I have ever read here. The mere thought that you could even possibly believe something like that is hilarious. I mean, COME ON MAN....Cut the riser and weld in a section...AND REPAINT!!!!!! AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That would cost more than making a new riser.
I just don't get people on this board anymore. SOOOOO much misinformed, or in this case, UNINFORMED info is passed around here. It is crazy.

Seriously....You were joking...Right?

First off I got the 1500 count from Bowtech4ever post. Also you have shipped more than a few I have seen 3 different PBR's so far and they were all drilled the same, and the limited edition numbers were higher than a few. Also that was one of the options givinen to the shop owner about fixing the riser, he sent the bows back so I highly doubt that he would lie about something like this. I know the problem is still in the air about how to fix them. I cant see them doing that. If I so off pro 38 shooter than was there or was there not a problem with the risers being drilled. I dont think this was the stupidest post at all I was just relaying some info that I seen first hand and heard first hand. I love bowtechs I have a pro 40 dually myself and its and awesome bow all the bowtech are awesome but there was a problem with the PBR and thats all I was trying to relay, so please dont take offense.

This WAS NOT an option given to your dealer, you can print this out and give it to your dealer.

As far as the numbers, if you did get that from bowtech4ever, it is incorrect. From the onset, and in our catalogs it states that there are only 1000 being produced. We have only shipped out 17 PBR bows.......17. I havethe shipping printout here in front of me. So check your information. So 17 out of 1000 bows were shipped. And you are correct, it should of been caught. When you are relaying something you heard from someone other than the factory, it is not relaying something you heard first hand. The thing you should have done is contact me here and actually get "first hand information".

Zarksniper is correct, it's much easier and cheaper to make a whole new riser.
The labor alone to cut apart and reweld would be outrageous, not to mention dumb.

I'm sorry.... as a machinist/engineer in a metal fab shop...... I just got to laugh.....

Not at the improperly drilled and tapped holes, but at the idea that BowTech or anyone would cut the bows into three pieces and weld them back together....

Dont get to hung up on the 1500 bows being made, I was just going off of what was on this thread, I understand there is 1000 not 1500, thats besides the point, I was only making public with what I seen with my own eyes. You sure have taken offense to the post, the fact of the matter is they were drilled wrong and thats that. I know you guys are not that dumb to actually cut the sight window out. What is actually going to be down with them. I was really wanting to buy one until I seen the holes. They are a very cool looking bow.

Is this not what you posted in your initial post? I think you are back pedaling. I'm not taking offense, just posting the facts.

SFA pretty much summed it up.

You still have answered the question at hand, whats going to be done about the problem and what options was he given then? Dont side step the issue and make me look like the DA... Im the one who finally made the mistake public and am wondering what the resolution is going to be?

If you look several posts back, I stated we would replace the risers. No side stepping here. There were no options, the ones that were shipped were returned and risers are being replaced.

Since you're a Mathews staff shooter why not just stick to shooting your Mathews "showpieces" and stay out of Bowtech threads that don't pertain to you at all.

btw, I don't think Bowtech machines their own risers so this problem would have been from the machining vendor. Understand down unda?

And the facts are, They stuffed up on what was supposed to be their showpiece. Nice job. :D
