Bowtech Reign 7

I came across an older Bowtech Reign 7. Looking at it, I thought... Should I put some new stuff on it, and turn around and sell it? Should I put it on the wall as a decoration? Should I put some money into it, and shoot it with my other boss, and maye have a back-up hunting bow to my Core SR? It is a 60-pound max, which is what I like...

So, the decision... Keep it and put Bowtech in-house 60 pound limbs on it, and some new strings, and order some new accessories for it, and shoot it with my other 2023 and 2024 Bowtechs.

I was slapping arrows at ten yards with nothing more than a test arrow rest, a loop, and a peep. It is a keeper.

Any of you also really liking the Reign series? Let's see them!

I have a Reign 7 that is my primary hunting bow that I bought new. I shoot it at 70 lbs. If I remember correctly this is when all the switching of limbs in house started. Some of the earlier Reigns were from the out sourced manufacturer and the later ones were in house. The way you can tell is the limb pockets were slightly different and the earlier limbs were squared edges and the later in house limbs had rounded edges. I have the earlier limbs on mine and shoot a 28" draw length and 70lbs. I have never had any issues with my bow and I shoot it a lot. This is one of the bows that I can pick up after a long lay off and shoot it fantastic. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your Reign 7.

I am shooting the BTX 31 #60 from around same era (think the Reign took over from the BTX).. it shoots fantastic.. I have had issues with limbs but I have sorted it and I love it.. I did look seriously, at the time, getting the Reign.. the ONLY reason I would get the newer Bowtechs is the ease of tuning without using a press.. but apart from that that era of Bowtechs shot great imo

I have a Reign 6 in the stable, haven't shot it in a while since going recurve, but it was good to me when I did shoot it.

The older Bowtech overdrive binaries are awesome bows. Reign 7 is one of the quietest bows I've owned. Currently shooting a Realm and BT Mag, which is a 36 A2A flat grip with very little reflex. Its quiet, fast and accurate and has all the adjustments of a new one. If I can find a Realm X in great shape I'll have a 30,33, and 36 inch A2A bows for less than a thousand bucks. IMHO the newer bows have nothing on the ODB bowtechs, especially the Reign and Realm series. Keep it and shoot it would be my vote

Mathews sued Bowtech over the cam design so they had to stop making those designs after the Realm bows.

Reign 7's a fine bow and a personal fave. No reason to wallhang it, it'll do the job.

My nephew still shoots a Reign 7 I bought him about 4 or so years ago. Just had new strings and cables put on and got him all dialed in again. I’ve always been really impressed with how it shoots and quiet it is. 60# with a 410 grain arrow it’s impressive for how hard it hits and no noise. I think I prefer it over my SS34

I've shot a reign 7 for the last 4 years with no issues at all. Smooth, very quiet, and no slouch in the speed department. I get around 260 fps with a 490 gr arrow, 29.5" draw length pulling 73 lbs. Fantastic bow. My wife shoots the BTX 28 which is highly similar and also fantastic. Just upgraded this year to an SR6 and Revolt X because the clutch grip works better for me but can't bring myself to sell the reign.
