You could just buy 5 or 6 of the bows you are interested in and keep them all. I know guys who have 50 guns. Actually the worst part of owning several bows is just keeping up with the strings for them and outfitting the accessories. And then actually finding time to shoot them all.

When you measure the overall outside dimensions including the cams, today's short bows are not really as short as they would be with the old tiny wheels we use to have. You get to looking at these cams closely, you can begin to see which ones are going to draw nice, the overall geometry tells the tale in large part.

I just won't let myself shoot a new one if I decide I need to go through withdrawals because my addiction is getting to bad. I just go into rehab, and try to stay out of the pro shop more. If I go in I try not to stare or look at the bows, definitely don't touch. And don't let them talk me in to going for a test ride and telling me about all the great new engineering and benefits.

I would hold on to the Revolt-X if it were me, not saying don't get the SS34 also, lol
The Revolt-X is a sweet shooting bow, I don't think I will get rid of mine.
I have no issues with it in performance, doesn't bother me at all.

All good info. Revolt X was my top choice when I was looking for a used bow a year and a half ago, but ended up getting a good deal on a 60 pound SR6. The draw in performance at 62 pounds and 29" is great for me (with Lucky Stops added). If it didn't shoot so well I'd be looking at a Revolt X or SS34 in 70 pounds.

I haven't heard much about the SX80 yet.

Thanks for all your input. The picture by bowman69 of the geometry of the two is very interesting in the similarity of total length.
If it helps when I shot the SS34 I measured the over all length and riser length.
39.5 COAL
32” riser at the pivot.
The cam on the SS is larger and more oval than the Rx cam. This combined with an extra 1” ATA it isn’t as compact as the Rx. It’s actually 1” longer, over all, than the V3x33.
On the shot, the Rx, although not quite as drastic, mimics a target bows forward jump do to the more vertical limbs, the SS34 feels very true its parallel design where as you feel more of outward movement, very reminiscent of the E35.

How do the two modes compare? How much more difficult is the performance draw?
In both modes, draw is super smooth. In comfort mode it feels like one fluid draw. No humps, just smooth all the way through. In performance I could definitely feel a SLIGHT hump right at the back end of the draw. But it is honestly negligible in my opinion. Definitely a speed difference between the two modes. Not sure on exact specs. As soon as my shop gets their SX80's in I am going to shoot them a little more thorough and see what the actualy differences are. Very slick bow though.

If Bowtech came out with some cool patterns again like in 2020-21, I would be tempted to order one. Yes I am that vain.
They discontinued the woodland pattern a few days before I ordered mine in February 2021. I was bummed and settled for gray riser and kuiu verde limbs.

I had a woodland revolt x. I got in just in time to order a revolt in vias. I told myself I shot the revolt better, when in fact I liked Vias better and had no real reason to keep both. I don't know what it is with the bland Realtree or Mossy oak every year. I'd take a retro camo from those companies. I happen to think realtree HD gray looked great on old Bowtech allegiance and tributes. Bottomland from Mossy Oak looks real nice on bows. I understand they cannot offer all patterns, but if guys are willing to wait or even offer to pay an upcharge, more / better patterns should be available. Especially now that most come with a sticker price around $1400

I'm usually a big fan of solid color risers and don't care for the "busier" camo patterns on bows. I do like the larger/blockier patterns on risers, like the woodland, Vias, and Predator camos.

I like vias too

I don’t like photorealistic camo

I wear it on outerwear clothes because I get those cheap from midwayusa and mossy oak and real tree is all they offer

I am selling my Hoyt Ventun Pro 33 to get an SS34. Ordered one in all black, 60 pound. Looking forward to having an effortless draw cycle.

Great choice
At a 30 inch draw I'd take the SS all day. My only hesitation is the Mach 34 is so good.
The SS34 is th smoothest easiest to tune bow on the market bar none

I own a Revolt but kind of wish I'd gotten a Revolt X. Bowtech should've never gotten rid of the Revolt X, but they have to change things in order to get continued revenue.

The whole "this thing is smoother with less hand shock/noise" when it comes to Bowtechs in comfort mode is kind of ridiculous to me. All of them in comfort are so nice to shoot that it becomes a matter of "smooth as teflon ball bearing" vs "smooth as a teflon ball bearing that has been waxed and then dipped in oil"......no one needs more smooth than a teflon ball bearing.
I think "smooth" is misused in some cases. As a guy who has to take the rollover of a cam into consideration (shoulder issues), there absolutely is a difference between the Revolt X and the new SS cams (the reckonings fall into this category as well). I really like the Revolt X, but I have to turn it down at least 5lbs lower than I do my reckonings. And, the actual speed difference between the X's and the new SS are significant, lb for lb and comfort for comfort.

I wouldn't call any of them a harsh draw, but there is a difference.

Well worth the reduction in speed. I am shooting mine at 30” draw length, just over 62 pounds maxed out, with my 380 grain hunting arrows and I am just about to the 300fps mark, or there about. Nothing to complain about there.
