I have only had my SS34 for a week but it has already become one of my favorite bows of all time. The last Bowtech I had was the Reckoning 35 and this bow is WAY better imo. Much better balance and much smoother on the shot. The only bow I've shot with less vibe is the Omnia.
The thing that stands out the most is just how well this bow holds on target. I was shooting the other day in 40mph winds and it was still rock solid on target. The RX7 Ultra I shot last year was terrible in winds of 15mph or over.
I'm shooting mine in Performance and have to say it's much better than the previous Bowtechs I've shot. They did a better job of easing into the hump at the end. It's more of a gradual build instead of just having a big hump at the end of the draw cycle. It's still a pretty stiff draw but it is actually shootable in performance this year.
The comfort setting is crazy smooth, very similar to the RX7 Ultra I had at 28" DL. It also shoots the same speed in comfort as the RX7 Ultra I had.
Another big plus is the fact that it hits advertised specs for DL and IBO. It measured exactly 28" in the 28" setting and it's actually 2-4 fps over IBO depending on what arrow weight I'm shooting.
The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the grip. I don't like the angle or how smooth it is. I knew that going in so I ordered a Tim Guillingham custom grip in 6° before I even had the bow. It is absolutely perfect. It's a night and day improvement, much more consistent and repeatable. It just locks your hand into the same position every time.
Here are my speed #s with my hunting arrow. 61#, 28" DL, 435 grain arrow, 20 grains on the string.
Performance= 263 fps
Comfort= 253 fps
