Going to try mega meats just cause I have em. Think spit fire max’s would be the best, the over the top deployment and large cut should keep the arrow in the bird which is what ya want.

Agree 100%, but also on an animal with vitals the size of a softball a large cutting mech can save you if you are a little off.

 

Definitely agree with Shot placement over BH choice. All the BH mentioned will kill them. Shoot them high they die and shoot low they Go!

Over the top 3 or 4 blade mechs with 1.75" or bigger cut. Head loppers obviously work too.

In my experience, the broadside stutter above has the shot placement pretty high. It's spine at best, feathers at worst. When I was first starting to bowhunt turkeys years ago, I shot feathers a lot from aiming too high. With a big broadhead, I have had a lot of luck taking out the legs broadside, and busting the spine on rear and frontal, everything else is kind of a crapshoot. I don't personally like head loppers, but I do like that they are clean miss or dead right now.

 

Strutters have been the toughest for me with hitting feathers high. I've had good luck with large mechanicals, but did lose my first turkey this year with a shot that appeared to be fatal. I'll likely make the switch to head loppers because the appeal of an instant kill vs clean miss.
