I shoot the G5 montecs in 125 grain. I switched to them last year, after shooting 100 grain 3 blade muzzys for many years. I love them, they fly great, good soild design, not the sharpest out of the box, but it don't take much to put an edge on them. A good choice IMHO.

G5 Montec

no dought the G5 is better in a few ways. It is easy to sharpen, it is tough as nails, they are cut on contact, they fly much better than a muzzy 3 blade, I have used the same broadhead on numerous deer just sharpening them on a flat stone. I love them and that is the only broadhead that I will take elk hunting. They shoot great at 60 yards also.

They had a quality problem on the new Strikers. The blades were loose in the head. I bought a pack in the store two weeks ago and found this out.
They knew about this, but apparently didn't bother to have a recall.
This reinforces the philosophy of waiting a year to try a new product in order for the bugs to get worked out.

I don't think it's a matter if you should switch but more if you want to switch. Not too much bad stuff can be said about either head although muzzy has been around much longer. Some hunters also prefer to hand sharpen their heads before a hunt while others like to drop in a new set of blades knowing that they're good to go.

I've been using the G5 Montec's for 2 seasons & so far I am very impressed.

Solid... Can cut through a stainless steel canteen cup & just need resharpening to get it ready for hunting.

Easy maintenence... I've used 1 on 3 Deer & still going strong, just resharpen & put back in the quiver.

Very Accurate... I can get em to shoot with my field points out to 60 yards "maximum yard pin on my sight."

If you do decide to switch to the G5 Montec, I think that you wil be very impressed too...
