Recently aquired a '06 BowTech Constitution and want to use it for some Field rounds. Anybody else in AT land using one and how do you like it?

What did you go with for yours?

I had been looking at Constitutions for months for the same purpose. About 5 months ago I did get to shoot one in a shop but only for 4 or 5 shots. Unfortunately when I returned to check it out more in depth, it was already sold.

I'm interested in what type of answers you get..

Hmmm, I guess that means the archers who have them must like them? Maybe a good sign.

That's a pretty good observation. I won't get rid of mine. Well maybe for an '07.

I got one for 3D and indoor. I've never shot field, but can see no reason the Constitution wouldn't be a good choice. I'm very happy with mine. Accurate, smooth, plenty of speed, quiet. An overall pleasant bow to shoot.

06 Constitution...

I used mine at the Minnesota State Field Tournament, held last weekend @ the Duluth Archey Club.
It performed well beyond my expectations.
I even placed 2nd in AMFS.
So i was EXTREMELY pleased to say the least.
Ill be using mine for spots and 3-D as well.
Good Luck.

My buddy has one and just started shooting field with it last year. His comment after yankton was this thing make a darn fine 3D rig but its not built for field. He sayed the riser isnt forgiving enough. yes it can be shot for field just as you could go golfing with a shovel but that isnt what its built for.

This Bow Could Be Great For Any Venue You'ld Like 8 1/2" Of Brace Heigth/40" Axle To Axle D-flex Riser Fast Enough, Smooth Enough And Plus You Get The Added Benefit Of The Best Factory Strings And Cables On The Market, No Need For Winners Choice. Mine At 31" Draw Shoots My 401 Grain 2512 Cobalt 3d Arrows 285fps @ 63lbs. Get A Extra Windage Tt Spring Steel With A .010 Thickness Lizard Tounge For Up To A 400grain Arrow Get The Narrow One If Your Using 23 Series Arrows Or Narrower Or The Wide One For 24 Series And Fatter. If You Order A New One Order It With The Shrewd Grip From The Factory, You Also Can Order 4 Different Camo Patterns Depending On What You Like. Order It With The Speed Mods Because They Are Smooth And Easy To Draw You Can Always Add The Smooth Mods Later If Your Shooting 100 Plus Arrows A Day.
Last Advice, Don't Let Anyone Press Your Bow Unless They Have A Surelock Press And Know How To Use It. This Is An Awesome Bow When You Start With The Right Rest Its Easy To Tune And Mine Groups Awesome Out To 50 Yards Thats All The Farther I've Tried It. I've Shot Them All And This Is A Winner..mark Trombley

How is a bit over 40" ata, 8 1/4" brace, and a nearly straight riser not forgiving enough? Does hitting a half dollar size 11 ring, on a 3D target at 50+ yards, take a less forgiving bow?

My thoughts too. Well, I guess I will find out soon enough.

I've shot a ton of different bows in my life, and none group as tightly at yardage as my Connie!! She put 5 arrows out of 6 in a paper plate at 100 yds. this last weekend. There were other 6 arrow rounds that weren't quite so stellar, but that is the shooter! This bow, combined with the Shrewd grip, are deffinately one hell of a shooter!!!

It does it all

I have two Constitutions. I shoot one for target/field/Fita and the other for 3D. The setups are exactly the same, but I change arrows to fit the game. Both bows are forgiving, accurate, and fast to go from indoor target to outdoor 3D. I am extremely impressed. -- Ike

Bailing Out of Bowtech

I've got an '06 Bowtech Constitution that I shot at Yankton. It put me middle of the pack which is about where I expected to be. My disappointment is that I shoot 62# with this using a 310 grain arrow. I found on the last day of the shoot that the limbs are cracking - again. I get new limbs today which will be the third set I've had on them in the past month and a half.

Hoyt certainly looked impressive at Yankton but my local shop handles Mathews, Bowtech and Martin. I'm thinking a Martin Razor X is in my future.
