Anyone hunt with the Buckblaster with the fixed 3-blade in front or that 150 gr. 3 1/2" cut Sledgehammer? These should rock for deer, no?

Buckblasters or Sledgehammers...

You really need to be shooting A LOT of K.E. (kenetic energy) to push a head that big through a deer. I would be looking for at least 80 foot lbs. The cutting diameter is really much more than you need IMHO.

For a 100 grain head, I would look at the Sidewinder-3. And for a 125 grain head, try the Steelhead 125.

That 3 1/2" Sledgehammer would be great for turkeys though!:)

Yeah, I figured as much. Just wondering if anyone has used them to kill anything. It would be pretty cool to see a hole made with a sledgehammer posted though. If i was gonna use a Rocket head it would probably be th Strichnine or Slammer head. I'm trying the Scorpions this year for my first forray into mechs. I'm shooting about 60 ftlbs.

Caveman posted a pic of a deer shot with a Buckblaster (fixed blades removed). Quite an entrance hole.

Caveman's Buckblaster hole

That NAP Scorpion should work well for you. I'll be trying some as soon as I run out of Shockwaves. :D
