So awhile back I picked up a large wooden cable spool, thinking I'd finish it and use it as a table. Well life got crazy, that never happened, so I'm thinking of using it as an elevated hunting platform. Was thinking 8' 2x4s, using 3 as a tripod, and then another set of legs with the ladder. My thoughts were 15 degree angle cuts for the legs and building a seat directly on the platform. Was going to attach a bow holder to the platform and attach some hooks to hang scent wicks off. Another idea I had was drilling some holes around the platform to slide my stake out blind into for a little movement concealment. Looking for any thoughts and ideas on how else I might throw this together. It'd be mainly used for bow hunting and possibly some shorter range revolver hunting.

i wouldn't use 2x4's. get a post hole digger and some 4x4 posts and plant them in the ground. then build a frame to set the cable spool on. 2x4's are just a little too thin for my liking.
