Has anyone tried these, and if so, do they have enough weight to give a little side and back weight to stabilize torque on the shot?

Yup, dont use that model,however the do balance the bow from left to right and also reduces some hand shock...

I would say it would work like any other back/side weight. It will help balance the bow and possibly help you aim steadier.
