Having owned, and still own, plenty of both- I'd give the edge to the wooltimate. However, if you get a great deal on the berber, don't pass it up.

 

I have the Berber fleece. Best extreme weather hunting gear I have owned. The wind shear lining does a great job of nullifying the wind. But definitely not made for doing much walking. You’ll get sweaty and overheated quickly.

 

I want some Wooltimate really friggin bad, but it doesn't get quite cold enough down here. I had many days in the mountains in Washington state when it would have been great to have.

 

I have both in their Outfitter pattern......berber unlined for milder weather and Wooltimate for cold mid to late season. Folks who went with the new stuff like Sitka, Kuiu, First Lite, etc. talk about how much better that is for many times the cost.....I don't know because I am doing just fine in west MI with what I have used for many years.

 

Seems like people like both, but the Berber is too hot/bulky for long walks compared to the regular wooltimate

 

I have Berber fleece and my son has wooltimate. Berber seems to hold up better (no piling) than Wooltimate. Wooltimate is mostly polyester and acrylic with a low percentage of wool.

If you want wool that will last a lifetime King of the Mountain and Sleeping Indian is the way to go.

 

I like the wooltimate better.

 

I have some of both and like both. Wooltimate is a bit warmer.

 

Never had the Berber, love my wooltimate jacket. With good layers wear it through the coldest temps. Even with windshere it’s dead quiet on draw.

 

I’d have to give the edge to the wooltimate, but I’d spend my money on a stratus bibs. Jus sayin

 

I think the wooltimate will be the next set I purchase for rifle and late season here in pa. I don't own any of it yet but my buddy has the whole set up and said he loves it

I have both, the Berber is insulated with wind sheer. It's my favorite bow hunting getup. The Wooltimate is nice if you don't have to walk far but it's hot and bulk if walking.

 

I have had wooltimate for quite a while. It gets the nod when it gets really cold. It’s heavy but worth the extra weight.

 

I've had both and like them both. I kept the Berber jacket and the Wooltimate pants so I'll have a mix of the two. I also picked up a Wooltimate pullover to try out and like it so far also.

 

I have some wool tomato, and it is really good cold weather clothes!!!

I have the wooltimate with wind shear. It is great for really cold and windy late hunt days, but gets hot quickly if the day warms up. Biggest drawback is that if there is snow and you stop to spot, the snow and pine cones and branches all stick to the pants. But these pants are great for cold weather.

 

NOT trying to derail, but do any of you have both these style setups AND an IWOM/Heater body suit? Would it really be necessary to have both?

I’m planning on getting an IWOM at some point, and heavy late season pants kinda seem possibly redundant

 

I have some wooltimate and a HBS, I honestly don’t use the wooltimate much anymore. Sometimes wear it when gun hunting.

 

The only really difference worth noting between the two is the wooltimate is a bit heavier in weight than the berber. Beyond that they are pretty interchangeable to me.

 

I also have some of both (jackets not pants).
They both work equally well. I wear my Wooltimate during late season the most.

 

Both are warm. The Wooltimate with the wind block is nice in cold weather.

 

I have both. I favor Wooltimate when really cold. Berber is good when milder, and more comfortable.

 

I have had the berber. It’s very good for stand hunting but it’s so heavy that it does not work well for long walks or backpack hunting
