I always wanted to try one of these babies, and I'm building a basic one for a physics project right now. However, I don't know whether I should go with a shoot-through or with a roller. I'd like to be able to use it with fingers, by the way. Also, you guys that shoot these, what kind of length and riser length should I be looking at? I realize this is highly personal and based on what I want to use it for, but I'm thinking there should be a general length for bowfishing and just shooting in the backyard.

If I were building it I would build it as a shoot through riser; this way lefties and righties can shoot it.

For fingers, I would go 45 inches or more. Try some different bows and see what the finger pinch is for you at different lengths; find one you like and build it to those specs. Base don this, the riser length will be determined, at least in part, by the design of the outboard limbs. Most have pretty long risers though, even back in the day.

Remember, things like the RPM actually have cams. They are just a different kind of eccentric setup.

Bows like that are great to shoot and have some interesting "advantages" over normal compounds.

I would be interested to see how one could be built as a shoot through.
