I just bought a nice chek-mate firebird off e-bay. My question to the group especially Chad is what brace height? I have shot it at 8 1/4" and it does good there but in the back of my mine 9" is a number I seem to have seen somewhere.

Anywhere between 8" and 9", depending on how it feels and shoots for you, and what type string material it has on it. You can generally go lower with the brace height with Dynaflight, 450+, etc. vs. dacron.
If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to shoot me an e-mail.
A Firebird was the second stickbow I ever bought. Chad arranged the purchase for me through a fella in NE. It was/is a great shooting little bow. Sometimes when I'm sitting in a ground blind I find myself wishing I still had it!! I gave it to my son when I bought my second bow. He still has it although he is a compound shooter.
