I had a Chek-Mate take down compound a long time ago. The limbs could be loosened by hand without tools and folded up for travel. Then limbs unfolded and tighten by hand until the bow was strung once again. Took minutes and no tools required. I once visited the Chek-Mate factory (a large barn) in BC. The owner was using a band saw to cut a slab of frozen moose into steaks and gave me a couple to take home.
