Can you buy tags over the counter for muzzeloading elk in CO or is it a draw system?? What are the odds of getting a tag if it is a draw?

yes and no. Depends on areas. Check the state DOW's website for the map and the specifics. If the area you have in mind is a 'draw' area, the draw is over for the year.

Be careful with the muzzleloader laws, as well. Colo has a few screwy ones... such as no scopes and I don't think they allow sabots or in-lines. But perhaps some of those changed.

All muzzleloading elk licenses are limited, available by drawing for specific units.

For the most part, no. Although quite a few units offer antlerless (cow) tags.

Left over draw tags go on sale August 8th. You can go to the Colorado Division of Wildlife web site veiw the list of leftover tags and there's still some good tags left.:darkbeer: Good Luck.
