I have a quick question for you guys and gals. I changed the limbs on my 04 ultra tec from XT 2000 to XT 3000's. Since the change for some unexplained reason I have been having a little trouble finding a comfortable and consistent anchor point. I have had both of my shoulders operated on in the past so in order for me to hold steady I ,,,,,,well I don't have the greatest form. However I have never had a problem with accuracy. Anyway I have a couple of pics of the most comfortable and consistent anchor I have found. My question is: What is the difference in a high anchor and a lower one. I know the difference, what I want to know is which one is considered to be better as far as form is concerned? Thanks to any and all who reply.

Ok, I'll take a stab at this.

The biggest thing you've changed is the string angle. In order to get the string to touch your nose at the same draw length, you have to move your anchor lower. You may find this to be better, however to get to be as solid as you can, you may end up shortening your draw length just a bit, (1/4" or so).

Don't be afraid to change things a little, But when you do make a change, give it a while to make sure you get a good evaluation.

One advantage to the lower anchor, is it makes it easier to reach the longer distances.

anchor

Ok maybe this info will help. I have been trying to get this back tenion thing down for 3 years. Worked on standing up straight (not leaning back on rear leg ) hips inline so and soforth. READ all I can(Larry Wises book) read every thing that field 14 and many, many other people have said. Watched Straight talk from the Pro's countless times and finally came to conclusion that my draw is still to long and I have been having WAY to much tension in my release hand and forearm causing me to set my bt. release to HOT to get it to go off. I use to always put my release hand knockle in the corner of my jaw ,that no longer works ,I have lost my 27 year anchor .NOW what? Any help or pic's some might have would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I Know I need to learn to relax -This is just to much fun!!

Javi, I moved my peep down today. The reason I did so is that when my peep is higher that causes me to lower my hand position. With the lower anchor I am not as steady. I have been shooting with the peep higher for at least a month maybe longer. I am really confused? I have never had this problem before.

Shoot what is comfortable

To you. Theres so many different styles. Top shooters shooting both styles.

Nathan and Chance shoot a low anchor.

I just talked about this today with my coach. Find what works and stay with it. You must be totally relaxed to shoot your best scores.

I agree with Dan what is comfortable and "works" is best... (key word... "WORKS")

The reason I said something about the head leaning forward is that in previous photos of you the head is upright and the spine straight...

I noticed that you seem to have your shoulder rolled.I wonder if you have ever been or tried to fully extend the shoulder. In the pic it looks as if you're holding your chin up with it.I don't want to be taken as critical, just a suggestion and something you can fool around with. :)
