I've posted this in the tuning section but I need some answers quick so I double posted. My window to shoot today is narrow.....

I've shot mechanicals for my short bow career (3years). However, I'm going on an elk hunt and want to shoot cut on contact broadhead.

My field points shoot nice out to 50 yards. Today I put on a Golden Key Hornet broadhead and it hits way right 8-10 inches at 20 yards. I've read several posts and get more confused. Some just say move the pins, some say move the rest toward the broadhead and others say move it away from the broadhead???

The local bow shop set up my bow. We paper tuned it with field points.
I'm shooting bowtech stalker, 65#, 29inch draw, with gold tip 55/75 with 100 grain.

I don't know a lot about adjusting things on the bow so basic help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Broadheads

First of all you must shoot several broadheads and see how they group, if they group at all. Then move back in yardage and see if they still group in the same place. If they do group in the same place out to 50 yards as 20 yards, all you need to do is move your sight. If they don't you may have other issues that some of the other more knowledgable guys can help you with. Even if your bow is tuned perfectly they might not shoot like your field tips. It would be nice if they did but that doesn't always happen.

Don't move the pins!.

The problem is in either your rest adjustment or the broadhead.

8-10" is ALOT!

Paper tuning wont tell you much of anything as far as setting up a bow so don't put alot of stock in that

I would suggest doing as the previous posted recommended and getting a head with known flight characteristics.

Take the Montec or the Slick Trick for instance and shoot it.

Now if your bow is off you know it is the rest that needs to be moved.

Move the rest opposite of the incorrect impact (in your case...move it to the right) until the field tips and the broadheads hit together.

This is a very simple process so don't get freaked out by it.

Do not move the rest to much at once.

Move the rest 1/32 at a time and then shoot to check.

@ 8" out over 30 yrds you can probably start by moving the rest 1/8"

Best of luck!
