Last night at the range, a friend of mine pointed to the STS on my bow and asked what it was. I more or less forced him to shoot the bow, just to get the feel for what the STS did, knowing that he would be very impressed. Reluctantly, he drew back and fired an arrow, then shouted, "WOW, there's nothing there at all. The bow is totally free from everything. There is no vibration, no kick, no nothing. WOW this bow is absolutely dead in my hand."

If you are considering an STS--Go for it. You will not regret it.

I totally agree, I didn't think it was possible to improve on the SB XT, but after taking 1 shot without it. I could not believe how much string noise it reduced.

Mt Hoyt V-Tec was pretty quiet and smooth before, but I shot a friend of mine's bow with an STS on it and wow! There was NO vibration what so ever. Within a few days I had one on my V-Tec and it is great. The only thing I hear when I shoot is my release going off. (Tur Ball Chappy Boss)

At the shop I go to noone has the STS on there bows. I asked the owner if he knew anything about them and he said no. I bought one a few weeks back after all the raving on this site and am very pleased with it. I have noticed that whats hot on this site doesnt reach my area for some time. Glad I have this site to read!

Make your own even better

You can make an even better bow silencer that attaches to your bow.
My bow Bowtech Allegiance 05 has a threaded hole to accept attachments.
STS is a simple design that you can make yourself.????:mg:

I think actually that was one of the first ones I saw. It never worked like the ones currently available. At least for me:) The old Bear Delta V had rubber string stops on both ends, years ago;)

About a year ago I was at a 3D shoot with a friend of mine and his son. I convinced the son to shoot my bow with the STS and he was very impressed. Last night at the range, the guy showed up and his son just happened to be visiting and both of them came to the range with their bows. I looked at the son's bow and there hung a double STS. I joke with people that shooting my bow will cost them $40 because everyone who shoots my STS ends up getting one.

How many of you guys have the double STS?? I have never shot a bow with a single STS before so I don't have anything to compare my double too, but I know that mine is soooooo quiet...never will have a bow without one!

Jennings

Jennings uses a "Swing Arm Cable Guard" with a rubber supressor on it. I believe they have been using these for several years. I just tried to sell a 2005 Jennings on here about 3 months ago with the supressor on it. I had several comments about how it looked hokey and how those people would never put something like that on a bow. Now it is the "newest and coolest" must have accessory. Funny how things catch on and fads come and go......
