Hey, all. Interesting question. Do you think or know if it’s possible to convert a Fast Eddie XL to a regular Fast Eddie direct mount? Kinda looks like you would just need to swap out the inner mounting pieces? Asking for a friend.

You will have to completely disassemble the sight and reassemble it. To do that you need to know exactly how much tension to put on the gear teeth and the exact torques and tension to set on the rack itself. In other words it is extremely difficult to do and you would be better off either sending it in and paying SH to do it, or finding someone to trade you a regular for your XL. Everything that makes that sight function is connected to the base/bar. This is also why they do not need a 1st axis as it is all machined into the sight to be square with the riser. Most other sights have multiple connecting points and attachment screws between the base and the surface that the sight travels on.

Just sell it and get the one you want. Its cheaper and less of a head ache. And no worrying on if it was done right or not.
