Similiar but not the same deer in my opinion. Maybe with better pics on the first deer we could tell better.

I don't see anything in the two racks that suggests they're the same buck...

Where are you located?

If these deer where in my area, I would guess that one of them is a 2 1/2 and the other 4 1/2 (yes, I realize that isn't their exact ages at the time of the photo). For that reason, I would say they are different deer. That looks like too much improvement for 1 year, but pictures can be deceiving and some deer just grow faster than others.

Keep in mind these are different years (obviously).

The right G3 (main beam branching at the end) of last year's buck is short, but the left G3 is even shorter.

Now with the new buck, the right G3 has the same sprout feature, and is again longer than the left G3...but noticeable more tine length overall. Not far fetched to believe a deer can add that much length at that age class in one year.

I think there is a chance they may be the same buck, but it still requires better pictures. I can't say for certain, it is a definite NO they are not the same buck.

I am going to have to say no also. Like RBG said the buck in the first picture appears to have a wider rack w/a smaller body, while the other deer appears to have a larger body with a narrower rack.....just my opinion...both nice deer

I was hoping that people said NO!!! Just gives me another shooter to look for this season!!! I have eleven pictures of the bigger buck so far this season and he is putting on mass and length pretty good! I have 5 different bucks that are going to be shooters but only this wide one on camera so far this year!!! The other 4 where late winter!! they will be back!!!

Keep in mind...you are looking at a winter deer and a summer deer...very, very different both in coat and body fat. The winter deer will always look much bigger.
