I also posted this on the Bowhunting page:
Here is my dilemma:
I hunt exclusively out of a tree saddle so the HBB is not really an option unless I decide to hunt from a fixed stand/climber. I really love the tree sling though, so I am looking at the Cabelas Tech Down coveralls for extreme cold weather hunting. I need a warm weather suit that I can put on once I arrive at my tree since I am tired of lugging a bunch of layers in my pack.
Do you think the coveralls will keep me as warm as the HBB? Won't it be like wearing a down sleeping bag with arms and legs? It uses 550-fill goose down which seems pretty heavy duty and it's treated with a waterproof/windproof coating.
Any opinions??
