I harvest about 50-60 per year out here in AZ, usually a dozen fox or so and a few bobcat

I have a question for you that I have wondered about before. The black pitch you use to seal the gut that is wrapped around the blade to hold it in the handle. Does it dry out or does it stay tacky?

pitch gets hard but can be heated to reshape or remove
hideglue/sinew gets like fiberglass
