Crossbow tuning?

I’ve never shot a cross bow and the question just came to my mind, does a brand new flagship level crossbow need to be tuned in order to achieve proper arrow flight and shot placement, similar to how a vertical bow needs to be tuned? If so, what exactly needs to be tuned? Common sense tells me the sight will need to be dialed in, but what else?

Most will come "in tune", but with string and cables stretching over time, changes in cam synchronization are probly inevitable. String adjustments an changes will be needed over time. Cams need to be level through the entire draw cycle. A nearby, competent pro shop/technician can do these things for you....OR....you can buy a bow press, study and learn to do yer own work....OR....you can buy a revurve crossbow and avoid all the minutia required to keep a dang wheelie crossbow shootin right.

You can also tune the bolt to the bow. There are spines and weight that can change the performance of flight. FOC is often over looked but important.

Center of string. Mark center of string at rest then cock and make sure it is centered to flight deck.

Cams level at rest and cocked as well as timing. Mine have white paint marks so I can tell if they move.

All need adjustment over time and just because you blow $2 grand on a crossbow doesn't mean it will out shoot my Barnett at 1/5th the cost.
