Never hunted them, but I shot one last year

I keep a good bit of corn in my yard about all the time. That naturally draws in squirrels, deer and yes crows. I generally will set in my trophy room at my bar or reloading table with a pair of binoculars sizing up all the activity while I'm doing household chores. I also will shoot at my target at end of my yard several times a day for practice from the trophy room. I walk back and forth to pick the arrows out of the target occassionally. Last year there was a crow just about to my target walking around. I lasered him and adjusted my sight. I released and plowed him stone dead. Pretty lucky really, he was intermittantly walking and stopping to pick up a worms/bugs here and there. The arrow was easy to find because it was in my mowed yard. I generally don't shoot at small game because the arrows are so expensive but will admit that it was fun. I have a family of foxes that enjoyed the crow meal that night. I feed the wild animals all of my table scraps and anything that I think they'll eat. I like watching the wild animals almost as much as hunting them.

Shoot one crow and then watch all heck break loose from the other 150 that see it. Talk about drawing a crowd. I put a BH through one last year, and he flew away. The arrow was covered in blood from tip to nock. Last week I put a Judo point through one. This crow didn't go anywhere.

You need a road kill to lay out as a attractant and then put a crow decoy next to the road kill...open the belly so you have some red meat showing...if you think turkeys can bust you..crow will spook if you even blink a eye....JMO

I've never killed one with a bow, but setting up decoys, using calls, and shotguns is a riot. VERY fun hunting. They are very intelligent birds. If you use a shotgun, use heavy loads. They are very tough. Oh, and make sure it is in season in your state. In IL there is a season, but you can shoot them year round without calls as long as they are doing damage to your crops, garden, etc.
