I recieved some pics of this Fisher Cat taken on Ragged Mtn in New Britian today. I've never seen one stay still for this long.

gotta be careful, those things can be nasty. i once saw one take down and eat 2 ***** at the same time.

I've seen quite a few in NY and MA. That is very odd that the Fisher is tolerating a human so close. Looks to be in good shape though. Still, may be sick, or it could also be a rehabbed animal that has lost its fear of humans. They are normally very wary.

Ragged Mtn is a very popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. I must admit I was surprise to see this cat allowed these folks to get so close. He looks healthy enough.

No it's not. Same family. Fishers are also related to wolverines, otters, and skunks.
