Hi there!
I have a Carter Solution 3 which is a 4 finger release. I've found that I prefer a 3 finger grip but am always fighting as to where I put my pinky finger.
Has anyone ever cut off the 4th (pinky) finger portion on a Solution 3 and if so were there any "negative" effects?

Thanks,

Rick K

just drop the pinky off when you grab the release. many of us do it. i wouldnt modify your solution 3 . it will void the waranty i believe.

talk to Forrest at Carter, he might be able to switch a 3 finger out for you. or you might check the classifieds for some one that wants to swap a 3 for a 4.

last resort would be cutting it down to fit.

No problems cutting, but it would void any warranty. You could cut it down to a 2-finger if you want.

If you want to know where to cut, and what are the limits, here are the innards:

I use a Solution 2.5 four finger model. I now shoot with three fingers. My little finger curls naturally behind the release. The vacant spot on the release causes me no problems at all. I don't see any advantage to cutting it off.
