We got a new spot to bowhunt this year.I did great the second time I went out, but my dad wasnt seeing anything in bowrange. The only deer he saw during the regular bow season, was over 60 yards away on a hill that was accessible. He waited out the regular bow season in his stand, watching deer 60 yards away(couldnt move due to the pendulum site on his old jennings.) My mom, sister, myself and my GF chipped in to get him a crossbow so he could move over onto the field. Didnt take him long to settle on the Parker Buck Buster as a first crossbow. Got it all set up and went hunting with it about 3-4 times with no success. He went out last night, and the scope on it almost literally fell right off the bow. He went back to the little mom and pop shop he bought it from today, and was like ***? Guy who set it up didnt tighten alot of the screws down, or use loktite on anything. The head archery guy spend over an hour checking it, and doing it properly and then they sighted it in again this morning. He wished my dad luck and sent him on his way. Well..tonight I had just gotten home from work and my cell phone rings about 5pm, and my dad asking me to help him come find a doe he shot:wink: Sure, no problem Dad, Ill be there in a few....Crossed into the field where he has his blind set up and found blood almost imediately. I asked him what shot he had, and said a head on shot..Went in the deers left side of the neck, and into the lung, stopping in the guts. OK, no problem. No bolt anywhere to be found, must still be in the deer. Tracked it for probbaly an hour, and it was laying no more then 50 yards from where he shot it, and it looks like it ran into an old wooden stake before laying down in its final spot. Drug it out of the woods, and got it home and weighed it on our scale we bought..80lb doe..Not bad for a first deer with the new Crossbow:)

I felt great finding it, since he hasnt shot a deer in over 3 years:confused:

Just figured I'd share this story since I feel good about it, and its a really good Christmas present:)
