Depends on the type of country you wear them in and how much use they get. I bought a pair last August and thought they were great at the time. I hunted a ton in them last fall, probably around 60-70 days then shed hunted in them in some really rough country this spring. By turkey season in april they leaked badly and were honestly getting pretty wore out on the soles. I also hated the hard piece of exposed plastic shank that was under the arch area on the sole. Its good for letting you slip on logs and rocks and thats about it. Due to the leak issue I sent them back to Danner and they replaced them under warranty. I then paid the difference and picked up a pair of the uninsulated Danner Grand Slams as my replacement boots. So far I have little mileage on the new ones but I think they are a better boot just in looking them over some. For occasional use or in country that isn't really rough I think they are fine, but for tough country I think better boots are available. I'm eyeing picking up a pair of Meindl or Lowa boots for some of my rough country hunts and saving my new Danners of easier terrain.

They're good for the price. I had a pair that lasted almost 3 years and, as said above, the stitching came loose at the toe. Again, I think I got what I paid out of them. I couldn't afford better back then, but I just replaced them with some Acadia's. You can tell a big difference in the Danner models made over-seas and the ones made in the USA. Better, thicker leather, better stitching, etc. Danner has a better handle on the QC on their over-seas models compared to other companies, and the Pronghorns are a decent value IMO. But, the US made ones will definitely last longer. If you look at the Danner ads carefully, you'll see notations on their models made here that say "Made in the U.S.A.". Those boots also display a US Flag tag on the boot. Downside on US models - they cost more.

I have the 400 gram insulated pronghorns and they have been good. They could have a little more ankle support for me though, they seem a little weak in that area after break in.

I have the 400 gram insulated. Got them last year. The leather dries out really bad if I don't keep them greased up. They were a little uncomfortable where the tongue rubbed on my shin at first. Overall, pretty good boot. Better than the Rocky Bearclaws I used to buy. I would completely trash a pair of those in a little over a year just deer hunting and turkey hunting in Missouri.

Going on my second season with mine and they are still holding up. No leaks and the stitching is still intact. No complaints so far. Very comfortable and lightweight.
